Comprehensive Dental Implant Solutions
Dental implants are an exciting option to replacing missing teeth. A recent study has shown that dental implants have a 35% higher success rate when compared to traditional fixed bridgework or dentures.
Dental Implant vs. Bridge
Both restorations replace missing teeth, however, a dental implant is self-supporting, meaning the dentist won’t need to degrade healthy teeth to support the bridge. A dental implant can also be used to stabilize a dental bridge and replace several missing teeth.
Dental Implant vs. Denture
For denture patients, dental implants can minimize speech impediments often associated with loose or ill fitting dentures. The dental implants will also allow you to eat more foods and chew much more efficiently so you can live your life without concern over what foods you can and cannot eat.
Dental Implant FAQs
How much do dental implants cost?
The cost of dental implants varies based on the condition of the individual patient. Things to consider include bone health, condition of neighboring teeth and number of dental implants to be placed.
Lowcountry Dental Center offers flexible payment options including financing to help with the cost of dental implant treatment. We will review all of the details including the cost of your implant procedure and payment options prior to treatment.
How long will dental implant treatment take?
This is usually a two part procedure. Dr. Hendricks will work with a local oral surgeon to help coordinate treatment. The first part of the procedure involves the surgical placement of the implant. In some circumstances, the dental implant can be placed and restored with a dental crown during this visit. Other times, a temporary crown will be placed while the implant heals (about 3 – 6 months). After the implant has integrated with the bone, it will be ready for the final restoration.
Am I a candidate for dental implants?
Dental implants can be used for patients of any age. Dr. Hendricks will perform a comprehensive evaluation to determine if you are a candidate for a dental implant. It is important that you have enough bone to support the dental implant. If you do not have enough bone structure, Dr. Hendricks may recommend a bone grafting procedure to correct bone deficiency.
Are there any alternatives to implants?
Yes, there are a variety of treatments for missing teeth including dental bridges and dentures. Meet with the dentist to find out which choice is best for you.
