Process For Porcelain Veneers
The first step in the porcelain veneers procedure is a comprehensive consultation and evaluation with South Carolina dentist Dr. Snyder. He will determine if dental veneers are right for you and create a customized treatment plan.
Dr. Snyder is one of the few dentists in Bluffton with CAD/CAM technology to allow him to create and fabricate porcelain veneers in his office. Traditionally, veneers are made in a dental laboratory meaning the patient would have to wear temporaries and come in for two or three visits to complete the procedure. With e4D, Dr. Snyder can design, fabricate and place porcelain veneers in just one visit to our Bluffton dental office.
As with the traditional procedure, the first step is for Dr. Snyder to prepare the tooth or teeth for porcelain veneers by removing a small amount of tooth enamel. This will allow the veneers to fit comfortably and stably in the mouth.
With the CAD/CAM technology, Dr. Snyder can create and place dental veneers in one day. First, we take a digital impression of the teeth. Using sophisticated computer software, Dr. Snyder will digitally design the veneer to fit your tooth exactly. The specifications are sent to an in-office milling machine where the veneers will be fabricated in a short period of time. Finally, Dr. Snyder will try on the veneers and bond them into place.
