Dental Insurance FAQs
Are you confused by dental insurance? Don’t worry you are not alone. Read some of the frequently asked questions about dental insurance and then read the guide we put together about understanding dental insurance.
Do you participate with any dental insurance plans?
Our first priority is to our patients. Because of this, we strive to provide the highest level of dental care without sacrificing service based on dental insurance benefits. We work with most insurance plans that will lower the cost of your treatment. If your treatment is not covered by dental insurance, we will work with you to make your out of pocket expenses as easy and manageable as possible.
Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare?
Not at this time.
How does reimbursement work?
You will pay the full cost of your treatment at the time of service. Our staff will prepare and electronically submit the necessary documentation and billing to your dental insurance provider. The insurance company will send a reimbursement check directly to your home.
The time it takes to receive reimbursement varies depending on the dental insurance company, but our patients tell us that the turn around time typically very quick. Some patients receive reimbursement within 10 days, most receive reimbursement within 3 weeks. Contact your insurance provider for specific questions about reimbursement.
What is covered by dental insurance?
Treatment coverage varies from one dental insurance provider to another. Most carriers cover preventive services such as dental cleanings, routine examinations and dental x-rays.
Lowcountry Dental Center is not responsible for and can make no guarantees as to the coverage your dental insurance will provide. As the patient, it is ultimately your responsibility to know your dental insurance benefits and you are responsible for all charges. You are responsible for providing us with current and accurate insurance information. We do not accept assignment of insurance benefits.
